During Term 1, students travel by coach to Canberra for a week of sightseeing and activities.
Students learn about:
Australia’s system of government and the purpose of the Constitution
Australia’s legal system
Identifying the importance of shared values and the diverse nature of Australian Society
Identifying ways they can be active and informed citizens.
Students visit Parliament House, Old Parliament House, Government House, Australian Electoral Commission Education Centre, the Australian War Memorial, The High Court of Australia, Questacon, the Australian Institute of Sport National Capital Exhibition and Mt Ainsley

Parliamentary question time and getting excited spotting Politicians
Maria Vamvakinou (MP) speaking with the kids about democracy and their role in civics and citizenship.
Socialising with their friends at the cinemas and IPLAY
Speaking to the Governor General while touring Government House
Participating in the closing ceremony at the War Memorial and holding a private school memorial service for ex-student Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG
