Information Technology at Gladstone Park Secondary College gives students opportunities to study and work with industry based technologies that can assist them in a range of different careers and skills in their future.
At year 9 the college offers specialised subjects: Games Programming and Web Application Development. These subjects aim to foster an interest within the field of Information Technology and equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge they will need to further their studies at years 10 and 11.
Information Technology at year 10 is offered at the college as two streams in which students are able to elect to complete both streams throughout the year. The streams which are offered are: Information Technology Applications and Information Technology Programming. These subjects are both designed to immerse students in to the industry based technologies that are used within IT based careers as well as everyday software tools used on a daily basis.
The college also offers subjects at VCE for Information Technology. At year 11 students are able to elect to study Applied Computing and at year 12 students are able to elect to complete one or both of the following subjects: Data Analytics and Software Development. All subjects at VCE level pride themselves on using and teaching the latest technologies and software skills that students will use in their future.
The Information Technology faculty offers a variety of competitions and incursions as well as opportunities to see and use the latest technologies with the Information Technology field.
