Commerce at Gladstone Park Secondary College encourages and challenges our students to consider their future in the world around them, assisting them to develop a greater understanding of their role in the future.
Year 10 offers two specialised Commerce semester subjects: Politics and the Law and Commerce. These subjects aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge needed in VCE Commerce subjects. Commerce introduces students to the subjects of Accounting, Business Management and Economics. Politics and the Law introduces students to Politics and Legal Studies.
The faculty of Commerce offers a wide variety of incursions, excursions and entrance to a variety of competitions to provide students with an engaged experience in the Commerce field, assisting them to put their knowledge, skills and ideas into a wider context.
Successes over the last 3 year in Commerce have been a plenty. Students at Gladstone Park were successful in winning the Dream It Pitch It Plan It competition run by La Trobe University. Cash prizes of $1000 were awarded to our students. Students have also had memorable experiences attending Parliament House and the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria.
Students interested in a career of business management, legal administration or financial management are encouraged to choose subjects in the Commerce area, which can be of value in the future.
