It is never too early to start thinking about your future and here at Gladstone Park Secondary College we have a dedicated careers team to assist students from Year 7 to Year 12.
The focus at Years 7 – 8 is to begin a career exploration process where students start to think about their pathway through secondary school. As students move into the middle years they will have dedicated Career information and exploration days providing the students opportunities to start planning for their future pathways.
During Year 9 students will begin to explore their future pathways with the participation and completion of the Morrisby Report. This Report is an interactive career advisory tool that will provide students with individualised reports followed by personalised career counselling. A compulsory part of the Year 10 program is for the students to obtain a week-long placement within an area of their interest. During this time students are given the unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the work environment generally and more specifically the occupation they have chosen.
In Year 11 and 12 students start to focus on their pathway beyond Gladstone Park Secondary College with exploration into their various future pathway options including tertiary education, apprenticeships, traineeships and future employment.
